Project Info

This project was completed in several steps. The patio at this house originally had Saltillo tile installed throughout that was aged and worn. The Saltillo was removed dust free, and the concrete ground flat.

Mr. Hearn decided to purchase a beautiful piece of Light Travertine stone with a chiseled edge that was to be installed in a Versaille pattern. The Bullnose were hand cut into 4 x 4 pieces to conform to the round step.

The Patio was completely transformed once the installation was complete, and just in time for the Memorial Day holiday!

The decision to use Schluter Ditra on this application was due to the age and hardness of the concrete. As you can see in the pictures, there were quite a few stress fractures. There was also an addition of concrete that extended the patio and filled in a planter.

The finished product was a show stopper! You can never go wrong with a natural stone.
